To help God’s people better understand God’s word as given to us in the Holy Bible.  This will be accomplished by opening up the historical context in which the respective books of the Bible were written, establishing the flow of the history of salvation, and relating it to the person and work of Jesus Christ.  This will help the 21st century reader of Scripture understand and apply the gospel of Jesus Christ to his or her life.
